Scottish Wildfire Forum

Today’s commitment by the Scottish Government - as laid out in its Strategic Action Plan on Wildfires - and the recently published Scottish Fire and Rescue Service formal debrief report on last summer’s devastating wildfires, has been welcomed by the Scottish Wildfire Forum.

A keynote speaker from the UK Wildfire Conference in 2024, Tiago Olivera, has written an article for the International Association of Wildland Fire website in which he outlines recommendations for how European countries can adapt to the growing wildfire risk. In this piece Tiago explores ‘a new era’ of wildfire mitigation and prevention, as defined in two new wide-ranging reports.
