Climate Week screening of new film

A new public information film focussing on the impacts of climate change was shown on the big screen at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) national headquarters in Cambuslang on the 30th September, coinciding with Scotland's Climate Week 2026.
Invited guests, including staff and stakeholders, were shown the 50-minute film titled ‘The People's Emergency Briefing’, which has been designed to encourage community discussion around how we could adapt to some of the challenges that a changing climate is likely to bring in the future. Presentations were given by Watch Commander John Aitchison and Fire Aid representatives on the impacts of climate change in Nepal; DACO Kenny Barbour provided an overview of SFRS wildfire strategy; and Peter Robertson provided an update on SFRS Carbon Management Plan. The event sparked valuable conversations around the impacts of climate change and the actions required to adapt.
The film is currently only available for private screenings, however you can find out about where these are taking place across the country online.
