Upcoming Royal Meteorological Society Lecture: Wildfires, Fuel and Weather – A Dynamic Relationship

The relationship between wildfires and weather is fascinating, not always simple or direct, with lots of counter-intuitive issues along the way.

Michael Bruce, Deputy Chair of the Scottish Wildfire Forum and Director of Firebreak Services, will be delivering an insightful lecture titled Wildfires, Fuel and Weather: A Dynamic Relationship. Hosted by the Royal Meteorological Society (RMetS), the event will take place on Friday 14 November 2025, bringing together experts and enthusiasts to explore the complex links between fire behaviour and weather.

Format: 45-minute talk followed by a 15-minute question session


For those attending in person, tea and biscuits will be served from 17:30. Online attendees can join the lecture via Zoom from 18:00.
